Museum of the two holy mosques

If you’re interested in Islamic art and history then you shouldn’t miss this place. The museum is in the heart of Makkah, close to the Grand Mosque. It houses an extensive collection of artifacts from the Prophet's Mosque in Medina and the Great Mosque of Mecca.

The museum's collection includes rare manuscripts, books, and pamphlets from the early days of Islam. There are also displays of Islamic coins, textiles, and pottery.

The most notable relics you can find are wooden wheeled stairwell (the ornate) and Kaaba’s twin gilded metal doors. The ornate was used by the Ottomans to gain entry in the Kaaba in 1820. Apart from these, you’ll find relics that date back to the 13th century as well.

The museum is a great place to learn about the history and culture of Islam.
